Oh Yes, I See You, The XX!

Our favorite indie band released their third album on 13 January 2017.  Yes, after five years of their second album Coexist, we're finally able to listen to their new tunes. This album is a bit different from their two previous albums. On their first two albums, the xx limited their arrangements so that the songs could be performed live. But here, Jamie xx’s samples form the backbone of several songs, allowing them to move into territory that would be impossible with a guitar/bass/programmed-percussion set up.

On hold was actually released on November 2016. The song peaked at number 38 on the UK Singles Chart. Most of the professional reviewers have noted a change of musical direction for the xx − Los Angeles Times is calling I See You "a brighter, more vivid affair" while Clash Music praised it for being "the bravest album of the band’s career, the one laden with the most changes".
